How does it work?
Rentinging a vehicle:
- Open an account. Sign up with your email, Facebook, or Google. TURO will confirm your identity and will approve you as a driver. Get $25 off your first trip.
- Find a vehicle to rent. You can search by city, airport, address, etc.
- Make your reservation. The car owner will confirm or decline your reservation within eight hours or sooner. Note: some owners offer “Instant booking” You can reserve these vehicles without prior confirmation from the owner, as long as you meet the owner’s requirements.
- Pick up the car. Pick up at the previously arranged location, walk around to check for dents or scratches, and very important, show your license to the owner.
- Return the car. Be sure to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel and the same condition. Make sure to inform of any ticket, damage, parking violation, or any problem that you encounter during your trip.
- Rate your trip. At the end of the trip, you will have the opportunity to rate your experience. The owner of the car will rate his experience as well.
List your car :
- Create a free listing. Take and upload good photos of your vehicle, create a description, and configure your availability calendar.
- Receive a request. You will receive notifications as soon as someone requests a reservation or “book instantly” according to your preferred configuration.
- Meet your guest. Communicate with your guests and meet them at the agreed location to deliver the car. Be sure to check their license, also walk around the vehicle, check miles, and fuel level.

I’m wondering if anyone knows how it works if you are not American, and try to rent using Turo. I suppose the in that case an insurance package is pretty much a requirement? Or do you need to buy something like this http://www.insurancepanda.com/3234/what-does-non-owners-car-insurance-cover/
