Castrol Synthetic oil

How often do I need to change the oil in my VW?

Volkswagen oil change intervals.

How often do I need to do the oil change in my VW?

This question is one of the most frequent questions we hear working in the Service Department. The answer depends on what kind of vehicle you have, and in the year model.

For most Volkswagen vehicles 2008 and older, the interval is every 5,000 miles or six months, the correct weight is 5W-40 full synthetic, Volkswagen recommends Castrol.

For most Volkswagen vehicles year 2009 and newer, Volkswagen of America recommends service every 10,000 miles or every year, weight is the same 5W-40 full synthetic. It is also a good idea to complete tire rotation as needed.

What kind of oil should I use in my VW?

  • 5W-40 full synthetic for gasoline vehicles.
  • 5W-30 full synthetic for Diesel cars.

Keep in mind

  • Depending on the age and condition of your car, you may need to do oil change more often.
  • You may need to top off the oil between services.
  • Every service complete an inspection brakes, air and pollen filters, coolant, windshield washer fluid, power steering fluids, etc

For more information about the service-intervals, refer to the owner`s manual or call your nearest Volkswagen Dealer.
